International Seminar “inclusive discourses in Korea”
The International Seminar “Inclusive Discourses in Korea” took place on March 21th and 22th. This included six lectures on equality and inclusion discourses in Korea given by experts in these subjects from Incheon National University and the University of Malaga itself.
In addition, within the framework of the event, the Workshop PhD Korean Studies student “Inclusive Discourses in Korea” was held, a meeting between the PhD students of the Area and the professors who are experts on the subject.
The Seminar has been organized within the framework of the projects “Path to equality: Korean Studies Network on inclusiveness” of the Korean Ministry of Education (AKS-2021-INC-2250002), the project “ASIA-SLAVES The path to freedom in the Joseon period in Korea: Slavery and abolitionism in the East Asian context” of the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation (PID2020-116910GB-I00) and Cátedra Asia.
This seminar encourages the participation of established, junior and trainee researchers interested mainly, but not exclusively, in studying topics such as:
- Discourses on social difference
- Discourses of equality and inclusion
- Rituals of community integration
- Slavery and the abolitionist movement
- Language and social identities in Korea
- Linguistic expressions of social hierarchy
- Writing systems and inclusion
- Active integration and inclusion policies
- Performing arts and inclusion
