Third-year students from the course “Korean Literature Through Its Texts,” part of the East Asian Studies Degree at the University of Málaga (UMA), participated in the 2021 Seoul International Writers’ Festival. This event is one of Korea’s major national literary and cultural festivals, held on an international scale with the goal of fostering connections between Korean literature and world literature. The activity was organized by Professors Eun Kyung Kang and Aurelia Martín from the Department of East Asian Studies.
This year, students participated by reading the work The Number One World by Kim Kichang and engaging in further analysis of the text.
During the session, students shared their personal opinions and perspectives, and asked the author questions about the work. Additionally, a group of students had the opportunity to record a video and send their comments and questions to the writer.
The activity is part of UMA’s long-standing initiative to promote Korean literature, which has included Korean Literature Essay Contests and other events related to Korean culture and art for over 14 years.
