



On September 25th, the lecture ‘The Korean Diaspora in Germany’ was presented by Professor Lee You Jae from the University of Tübingen (Germany). During the presentation, the professor explained the difficulties of Korean migrants in Germany during the 1960s and 1970s and how it affected the second and third generations of migrant families. In addition, the professor had the opportunity to have a meeting with the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Labour Studies and the Department of East Asian Studies to discuss possible future collaborations.
Prof. Dr. Lee You Jae is a professor at the University of Tübingen, the Director of the Centre for Korean Studies and the Director of the Sejong Institute in Tübingen, Germany. He received his PhD in History with a thesis on the work of Christian missionaries in colonial South Korea. His research interests include post-colonial studies, the Cold War, migration and diaspora.
This activity was carried out within the European Program for the Exchange of Lecturers (EPEL) project of the Association for Korean Studies in Europe (AKSE) granted to the East Asian Studies Department of the University of Malaga.
