The project focuses on sustainable tourism in Mongolia, particularly examining the role of women in this sector. This research builds upon the doctoral thesis of Patricia Chica, which highlighted the significant involvement of women in various sectors of Mongolia’s society and economy. Women in Mongolia play a crucial role in education, health, commerce, and public administration, and are also actively engaged in civil organizations that promote sustainability.
Sustainable tourism has emerged as an important area for economic development in Mongolia, with many companies focusing on promoting eco-tourism and preserving traditional nomadic lifestyles. The project aims to investigate women’s participation in this sector, exploring their roles in promoting and managing sustainable tourism initiatives. Special attention will be given to rural areas, where income levels are lower, and unemployment is notably high.
