Luis Botella graduated in history from the University of Malaga in 2007, and subsequently did a master’s degree in Korean Studies at Yonsei University in 2010. Subsequently, he continued his doctoral studies at the University Malaga with a thesis entitled “The field of Korean Archaeology in South Korea (1945-1979). Power relations in the Institutionalization and Professionalization of archaeology” and which she defended in 2017. Since then he has developed a line of research focused on the social structure of archaeology and knowledge production with several publications in this regard.
He is currently researching the relationship between geographical space and Korean society over time. He has been teaching at the University of Málaga since 2012.
