THEMATIC NETWORK OF STUDIES ON EAST ASIAN WOMEN: KOREA, CHINA, AND JAPAN.

The thematic network “East Asian Women: Korea, China and Japan” brings together researchers from different Spanish universities and research groups with the aim of deepening and pooling research on gender relations and women in East Asia (Japan, China and Korea), covering the Middle Ages, Modern and Contemporary, addressing the role of women throughout history in a cross-cutting manner. Likewise, the subject matter will be approached in a multidisciplinary manner, including the fields of literature, anthropology, history, sinology, economics, religiosity and law, in order to study and produce scientific knowledge about the reality of East Asian women.

Objectives of the network : 1.To recover the history of East Asian women 2.To highlight gender hierarchies and male domination in the Asian world, so that we can contribute to equity between men and women, as well as to allow us a comparison with Europe. 3.To promote communication between the different research groups participating in the Thematic Network. 4.Promote the inclusion of the gender perspective in the students’ TFG and TFM, so that research on Women and Gender relations in Japan, China or Korea is carried out.
