The Area of East Asian Studies at the University of Malaga has established itself as a benchmark in the multidisciplinary study of Korea in Spain. With a solid track record in research, the group is focused on the analysis of various cultural, historical, and linguistic aspects from a gender perspective. This research group is committed to academic excellence and the generation of knowledge at both national and international levels. Currently, there are active projects in collaboration with the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities and the Academy of Korean Studies (AKS).

Among its most notable initiatives are the publication of articles and the exchange of researchers with institutions from other countries, as well as the organization of conferences, seminars, and outreach activities to promote the ciruculation of knowledge exchange of ideas.
