XII WEEK OF KOREA

The East Asian Studies Area of the Department of Historical Sciences of the University of Malaga organizes the XII Edition of the Korea Week, “Celebrating Korean Culture”.

We present a varied program between November 21 and 24 a diverse program of events and activities focused on the dissemination and academic research on Korea. Cinema, theater, performances and lectures are some of the activities that will make up this cultural week.

Tuesday I November 21 I Inauguration of a new classroom

13:30 – 14:00 Inauguration of the Korean Performing Arts Classroom

Wednesday I November 22 I Evening of poetry and Korean cinema

Venue: Ateneo, Malaga

18:00 – 18:05 Welcome and presentation of the project Window on Korea

18:05 – 18:20 Reading of poems about gisaeng by the students of GEAOR

18:20 – 20:20 Film screening “The Man with No Past” (아저씨) by director Lee Jeong-Beom

Thursday I November 23 I Conference

18:30 – 19:00 Performance of the popular novel “The Song of Chung-hiang” (춘향전).

19:00 – 19:30 Delivery of JEONG AWARDS of the University of Malaga, to the best TFG and TFM in “Inclusion, marginality and equality in Korea”.

19:30 – 21:00 Gala performances of Korean music and dance. By 4th year students of the Degree in East Asian Studies and South Korean exchange students at UMA.
