From the East Asian Studies Area of the University of Malaga, the workshop “Upgrading Korean Studies in Southern Europe: Innovation in Education, Research, and Global Collaboration” was held, organized in collaboration with the Asia Center of Seoul National University (SNU). The meeting took place on February 13, 2024 on the third floor of the Green Lightning building, from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.

The main objective of the event was to strengthen research, teaching and academic cooperation around Korean Studies in Southern Europe. Designed as a practical space, the workshop allowed to discuss the current challenges and difficulties faced by the field, while facilitating collaboration among specialists to find concrete solutions to improve teaching and research in Korean Studies.

Organized by the University of Malaga in collaboration with leading European and Asian institutions, the meeting brought together national and international experts to share projects, experiences and common strategies for the future of Korean Studies in Southern Europe.
